RTorrent – Lightweight Torrent Client

rTorrent ist in den Packetquellen von Ubuntu vorhanden und kann somit sehr einfach installiert werden:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rtorrent
selber kompilieren:
The building/installation is possible very much easier:
- Download the libxmlrpc-c3 experimental debian packages
- sudo apt-get remove libxmlrpc-c3 libxmlrpc-core-c3
- sudo dpkg -i libxmlrpc-c3_1.16.07-1_amd64.deb libxmlrpc-c3-dev_1.16.07-1_amd64.deb
- mkdir build_rTorrent && cd build_rTorrent
- sudo apt-get build-dep rtorrent
- apt-get -b source rtorrent
- sudo dpkg -i rtorrent_0.8.2-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb
- sudo /etc/init.d/rtorrent start
- cd .. && rm -rf build_rTorrent
from http://www.transdroid.org/download/using-rtorrent-on-ubuntu/
benötigt wird dafür screen oder dtach
sudo apt-get install screen
Für die Konfiguration benötigen wir eine Konfigurationsdatei im home-verzeichnis
nano ~/.rtorrent.rc
mögliche Einstellungen gibt es hier.
rssdler
sudo aptitude install python python-feedparser python-mechanize
wget http://rssdler.googlecode.com/files/rssdler-0.4.2.tar.gz
tar -xvzf rssdler-0.4.2.tar.gz
sudo python setup.py install
